How to report copyright infringement or illegal content, and how to dispute a removal.

Maintainers: corrections and removals
If you maintain a listed project and simply want a listing corrected or removed, you do not need a legal notice. Send the repository URL through the contact page and we will handle it, usually within a few days.
Copyright infringement (DMCA)
We respond to notices of alleged copyright infringement under the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512). Send your notice to our designated agent:
HappylancingWilhelm-Weitling-str
Brandenburg an der Havel
Germany
Email: support@happylancing.com
Your notice must include:
- your physical or electronic signature, as the copyright owner or a person authorized to act for them,
- identification of the copyrighted work you claim is infringed,
- the URL of the material on Happylancing Directory you want removed, with enough detail for us to find it,
- your name, postal address, telephone number and email address,
- a statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent or the law,
- a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner.
Most content on Happylancing Directory is metadata from public GitHub repositories. If the infringing material is the repository itself, also report it to GitHub, because removing our listing does not remove the code from GitHub.
Counter-notification
If we removed material you posted and you believe it was removed by mistake or misidentification, you can send a counter-notification to the same address. It must include:
- your physical or electronic signature,
- identification of the material that was removed and the URL where it appeared,
- a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification,
- your name, address and telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your address (or, if you are outside the United States, any judicial district in which we can be found), and that you will accept service of process from the person who sent the original notice.
We forward valid counter-notifications to the original complainant. Unless they tell us within 10 business days that they have filed a court action, we may restore the material within 10 to 14 business days.
Repeat infringers. We terminate, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts of users who repeatedly infringe copyright. Knowingly misrepresenting that material is infringing, or that it was removed by mistake, can make you liable for damages under 17 U.S.C. § 512 (f).
Illegal content (EU Digital Services Act)
Anyone can report content they consider illegal under EU or member-state law, as provided by Article 16 of the Digital Services Act (Regulation (EU) 2022/2065). Email support@happylancing.com with:
- a clear explanation of why you consider the content illegal,
- the exact URL of the content,
- your name and email address (not required for reports concerning certain child sexual abuse offences),
- a statement that you believe in good faith that the information in your report is accurate and complete.
We confirm receipt, review reports promptly and diligently, and tell you our decision and the available means of redress. If we remove or restrict content you provided, we tell you why (Art. 17 DSA), and you can ask us to review the decision by replying to our message. We do not use automated systems to decide on reports. Our point of contact under Articles 11 and 12 DSA is support@happylancing.com, in German or English.
