Accessibility statement

We want Happylancing Directory to be usable by everyone, including people who use assistive technology.

Last updated: October 20, 2026

Our goal

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, the standard referenced by EN 301 549, the German Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz (BFSG) and guidance under the Americans with Disabilities Act.

What we do

  • Semantic HTML with landmarks, a logical heading order and a skip link to the main content.
  • Full keyboard operation, with visible focus. Press / to search and j / k to move through lists.
  • Light and dark themes that follow your system setting, with text contrast designed for AA.
  • Animations are reduced or removed when your system asks for reduced motion.
  • Reading and basic navigation work without JavaScript.
  • Form fields have labels, errors are shown next to the field they belong to, and form results are announced to screen readers.

Known limitations

  • Repository names, descriptions and README excerpts come from third parties. We cannot guarantee their wording, language or structure.
  • Star history charts are visual. The underlying numbers (stars, forks, weekly growth) are also shown as text on each repository page.
  • External websites we link to, such as GitHub, are outside our control.

Feedback

If something on Happylancing Directory is hard to use, tell us which page and what went wrong: support@happylancing.com or the contact form. We aim to respond within five business days and to provide the information you need in another format in the meantime.

Enforcement

If you are in Germany and we do not resolve your concern, you can contact the joint market surveillance authority of the German states for accessibility (Marktüberwachungsstelle der Länder für die Barrierefreiheit von Produkten und Dienstleistungen, MLBF).
